First Snow of 2012

Our eyes dazzled this past weekend as we woke up to a fresh blanket of snow that was lofty enough to take our little boy on his first sled ride. Watching Alex squeal in excitement over the winter wonderland warmed our hearts to the ethereal quality of snow, it's quieting effect, the peace that hovers over the ground it covers and its novelty no matter how many times we've been dusted by this magic.

we had the first snow here in STL and it was my first time to experience snow again after more than 10 years. It was indescribably uplifting. Looking at Alex in a sled warms my heart too like no other.
Keep yourselves warm and toasty,
malou

You're making me remember the years of snowfalls when we packed out wee ones onto a sled and simply walked around the block - their eyes filled with wonder.

Fabulous photo! Such a great graphic, and it so captures the innocence and joy of a child in new snow. Most of all, of course, it's fabulous because you happen to have such an adorable model in Alex!!

Your writing describes the way I feel about the snow perfectly! This is a terrific picture of Alex. I would have it enlarged and hang it up somewhere in the house.

That picture is too cute for words. Petunia, the St. Bernard was royally miffed that the snow only lasted for 2 days. She was spoiled last year... a perfect 10 for an Alpine dog. Me, I am sort of with her... I love snow. WInter without it is just... weird!
Alex looks like a little prince in that picture!
