Red Lentils and Kale in Coconut Curry Sauce

Rustic and down-to-earth, this red lentils and kale dish surprises with intriguing flavors from ginger and curry that are tamed by the creamy equatorial flavors of coconut milk.

Garlic Broccoli Rabe Pasta Quickest Meal Ever

My little one has been tugging me in all different directions. The latest has been to ride on his grandfather's tractor morning, noon and night. And if you tell him that he can't do as he pleases he won't hear of it. Literally.

Oven Braised Lemon Garlic Artichokes

Each year at the end of April beautiful plump fresh artichokes hit the markets and my heart skips a beat as I eagerly load my basket with globes of this vibrant green thistle vegetable. My favorite artichoke recipe is one that I make only once or twice a year, first, because the season is so short here in the northeast and two, because it can be a bit time consuming. Snap Pea Shiitake Mushroom Tofu Stir Fry

When I threw together this snap pea, mushroom and tofu stir fry, I had in mind that warmer and lighter days were around the corner. Can't Stop Thinking About This Kale Waldorf Salad

When Deb from Kahakai Kitchen wrote about the surprising positive reception of a kale salad that she served at demonstration she hosted at her local Whole Foods, my curiosity piqued. Have I had kale raw before? Not to my recollection. The intimidation of the rough looking, pebbly, dinosaur scale exterior of the leaves suggested that I needed to cook it before I eat it. But a simple bite disproved my assumptions. When eaten raw, dinosaur kale leaves are surprisingly tender.

CRAZY DAY WITH HAGAN AND FISHERS OF MEN II

It's five minutes to ten o'clock Tuesday morning and I'm crossing Wall Street to meet with food blogger, Hagan Blount of Wandering Foodie, who is spearheading the 93 Plates project. For the entire month of January, Hagan is eating and blogging his way through three meals a day of food experiences. So far he is more than two-thirds of the way to completion, has gained ten pounds and is feeling good about it.
